  • Prepare the Patient: Ensure the patient is comfortable and properly positioned in the dental chair for easy access to the targeted tooth
  • Anesthetize the Area: Administer local anesthesia to numb the extraction site, ensuring the patient’s comfort during the procedure
  • Select the Forceps: Choose the GDC Extraction Forceps FX6CS, which is specifically designed for upper molars in pediatric patients
  • Grasp the Tooth: Position the beaks of the forceps around the crown of the tooth, close to the gum line. Ensure a firm grip to prevent slippage
  • Apply Controlled Pressure: Use steady, controlled pressure to rock the tooth back and forth in both buccolingual (side to side) and mesiodistal (front to back) directions. This helps loosen the tooth from surrounding tissues
  • Use Rotational Movements if Necessary: If needed, gently rotate the forceps in a clockwise and counterclockwise direction while maintaining a secure grip on the tooth to further loosen it
  • Extract the Tooth: Once sufficiently loosened, apply slightly more force to extract the tooth from its socket. Be cautious to avoid excessive force that may cause trauma to surrounding tissues
  • Inspect and Clean the Site: After extraction, inspect the socket for any remaining root fragments and clean the area as necessary. Provide post-operative care instructions to the patient and caregivers
