  • Chair and Equipment Setup: Ensure that the dental chair and equipment are properly set up for the tooth extraction procedure. This includes having the necessary instruments and accessories in place.
  • Selection of the Appropriate Elevator: Examine the patient's dental condition and the tooth that requires extraction.Select the appropriate root elevator from the RESP9 set based on the tooth's location, root configuration, and the complexity of the extraction.
  • Local Anesthesia: Administer local anesthesia to numb the area around the tooth to be extracted. This step is essential for patient comfort and pain control.
  • Tooth Accessibility: Use dental mirrors, retractors, or other instruments as needed to improve visibility and access to the tooth and surrounding area.
  • Elevator Placement: Hold the selected root elevator with a firm but gentle grip.Insert the elevator's curved or pointed tip into the periodontal ligament space (PDL space) between the tooth and the surrounding bone. Be cautious not to damage adjacent teeth or tissues.
  • Luxation Technique: Apply controlled force using the elevator to luxate or loosen the tooth from its socket. Use a combination of rocking and rotational movements to achieve this. The goal is to gradually detach the tooth's attachment to the periodontal ligament and surrounding bone.
  • Evaluate Mobility: Assess the mobility of the tooth by gently moving it with the elevator. If the tooth is sufficiently mobile and detached, proceed to the next step.
  • Extraction Forceps (if needed): Once the tooth is adequately loosened, use dental extraction forceps to grasp and remove the tooth from the socket.Apply steady, controlled force while rocking the tooth gently to extract it.
  • Post-Extraction Care: After successfully extracting the tooth, ensure that any remaining socket is clean and free of debris.Provide post-operative care instructions to the patient for proper healing and pain management.
  • Sterilization and Maintenance: After use, clean the root elevators thoroughly, following the manufacturer's recommendations for sterilization and maintenance to maintain aseptic conditions.
