GDC Impression Trays Edentulous Non- Perforated S/8 Instruments Kit (ITRLEDNPP8)

The GDC Impression Trays Edentulous Non-Perforated S/8 Instruments Kit (ITRLEDNPP8) is a comprehensive set of impression trays designed for edentulous patients. These trays are specifically designed to capture accurate impressions of the patient's gums and underlying tissues to aid in the fabrication of dentures or other prosthetic restorations. The kit includes a total of eight trays, each with a different size and shape to accommodate various arch sizes and anatomical variations. The trays are made of high-quality, durable plastic material that is rigid yet flexible, ensuring optimal performance and patient comfort during the impression-taking process. The trays are non-perforated, which means they do not have any holes or perforations on the surface. This feature helps prevent any unwanted seepage or distortion of the impression material, ensuring accurate and reliable results.

The Impression Trays are of 2 main types:

  • Dentulous: These are trays that are used to take impressions of people with teeth or of a dentulous mouth.
  • Edentulous: These are trays that are used to take impressions in an edentulous mouth or a patient without teeth.

They are again divided into two types, based on the presence of perforations in it:

  • Perforated: There are small perforations or holes in the tray.
  • Non-Perforated: There are no perforations in the trays as they are used to carry impression materials that are not rigid Ex. Alginate.

  • Select the appropriate tray size: Choose the tray size that best fits the patient's arch size and anatomical shape. The kit includes a range of tray sizes to accommodate different patient needs.
  • Prepare the tray: Ensure that the tray is clean and free from any debris or residue. If necessary, disinfect and sterilize the tray according to the recommended protocols.
  • Prepare the impression material: Mix the appropriate impression material according to the manufacturer's instructions. This can be alginate, silicone, or another suitable material.
  • Load the tray with the impression material: Fill the tray with the prepared impression material, ensuring that it covers the entire inner surface of the tray evenly.
  • Seat the tray in the patient's mouth: Place the loaded tray in the patient's mouth, aligning it with the arch and making sure it covers the gums and any edentulous areas adequately.
  • Ensure patient comfort: Assist the patient in maintaining a relaxed and comfortable posture during the impression-taking process. Make sure they close their mouth gently, avoiding any excessive pressure on the tray.
  • Allow the impression material to set: Follow the recommended setting time for the impression material. It is important to wait until the material has fully set before removing the tray from the patient's mouth.
  • Remove the tray carefully: Once the impression material has been set, gently remove the tray from the patient's mouth, taking care not to distort the impression.
  • Inspect the impression: Examine the impression for any distortions or defects. If necessary, repeat the process to ensure a high-quality impression.
  • Clean and disinfect the tray: After use, clean the tray thoroughly with appropriate cleaning agents and disinfect it according to the recommended protocols to maintain proper infection control.
