Alphadent Articulating Paper Horseshoe Shape Booklet (Hydrophilic) is a valuable dental diagnostic tool, uniquely designed for assessing a patient's occlusion and bite. Its horseshoe shape makes it exceptionally user-friendly, allowing dentists to efficiently test occlusal contacts in both the upper and lower teeth. One standout feature of this product is its hydrophilic properties, ensuring optimal performance even in the moist conditions of the oral cavity. This resilience in wet environments enhances the precision of occlusal assessments during dental procedures. The booklet's articulating paper is coated with a transferable, colored material that leaves marks when teeth come into contact, clearly indicating occlusal contacts and distribution of occlusal forces. Dentists can use this information to diagnose issues, balance the bite, and improve patient comfort while preventing dental problems. Furthermore, this unique booklet features a distinctive design with blue markings on one side for one arch and red markings on the back side for the opposing arch. This color-coding provides clear visual feedback for efficient analysis, making it easier for both dentists and patients to understand the patient's occlusion.

Advantages:

  • Maarc articulating papers are coated with easy transferable ink, so it accurately highlights occlusal contacts.
  • It comes in various thickness.
  • Maarc articulating paper comes with progressive color transfer and aids in visualizing static occlusion.
  • Because of its low thickness and flexibility, it adapts perfectly to cusps and fossae, making it extremely precise and therefore suitable for more delicate preparations.

Shelf life and storage:

  • Best before 60 months under proper storage
  • Store at a temperature between 10°C to 40°C

40 µ- Red / Blue – 1 Box
containing 10 books

Prepare the Patient:

  • Ensure the patient is seated comfortably in the dental chair. Explain the procedure to the patient to alleviate any anxiety and obtain their cooperation.

Dry the Teeth:

  • Before applying the articulating paper, it's important to dry the patient's teeth. You can use an air syringe to remove excess moisture.

Apply the Articulating Paper:

  • Hold the horseshoe-shaped booklet and carefully place the chosen color-coded side (blue or red) between the upper and lower arches. Ask the patient to bite down in their natural, comfortable bite position.

Assess Occlusal Contacts:

  • Instruct the patient to grind their teeth slightly from side to side and front to back to distribute the color on the paper. This will highlight occlusal contacts, high spots, and force distribution.

Evaluate Marks:

  • After grinding the teeth for a few seconds, carefully remove the booklet from the patient's mouth. Examine the marks on the paper to identify areas of contact and intensity of force. Darker marks indicate higher force.

Adjustments (if necessary):

  • Using a dental mirror and explorer, make any necessary adjustments to balance the occlusion. High spots may require slight reshaping or filing to create a more even bite.

Repeat as Needed:

  • You can repeat the process with the other side of the booklet (blue or red) for the opposing arch to ensure that the occlusion is balanced.

Patient Education:

  • Share the findings with the patient and explain any adjustments made. Discuss how these adjustments will improve their occlusion and bite comfort.
